    Default Sprint s3 conspiracy

I have a conspiracy for the Sprint s3. I think that Sprint has put something in the Sprint only s3 that always searchs for Wi-Fi. When I leave the house, turn Wi-Fi off then I go to somewhere with Wi-fi it shows the notification that there is a Wi-Fi hotspot available, turning Wi-Fi on. At first I didn't care but then i realized that if you are not connected to Wi-Fi your battery drains FAST! It doesn't do it on any other carrier to my knowledge. So that makes me think that it's Sprint thats doing it.

Anyone else having this happen or am I just crazy?

I'm having the same problem, I'm going to turn it off from settings and see what happens. Have you noticed that you can't put anything on the SD card . That's a **** off, I'm going to call and talk to tech support as soon as have time to.

No conspiracy... This is a setting under mobile networks called Automatic Connections, which is on by default.

Do you mean Apps or just putting files directly to your SD? Works just fine on mine...

Not being able to put apps on the sd card isn't a problem, you just can't do it without root because you don't need to. You have a LOT if space in the device for apps. Plenty. Use the sd card for pictures, videos and music.

To op, this doesn't happen to me. By the end of the day I'm at around 70% with 4g on.
If X were here, he would have tried to talk things out first. Unfortunately for you, X isn't here.

If you're rooted an app called link2sd is awesome. I have a 16 gb S3 with over 10 gb of free intsd space. Using a 5gb partition on my 64gb extsd card. 165 user apps installed.

You should also get a file explorer ; I personally like which enables you to actually move files (pics, mp3, movies, folders, etc.) from your "INTERNAL SD card" to your "external/removable SD card".

In addition, try playing with the settings of each app, most give you an option of storing on phone memory or sd card memory. As previously mentioned, we have soooooooooo much space on the S3 natively, that it doesn't default to saving stuff on an external sd card like our older phones did.

Why use up more memory by getting a file management app when the GS3 comes with one already?

Because there are other file management apps much more robust then the one that comes with the S3.

Astro, Solid Explorer, ES File Explorer and X-plore are some examples you might look at.
