Issues since update

I have a weird issue going on. Before the Jellybean update I was able to backup my phone using my Mac computer and Android file transfer. Now since getting the update my phone connect to my computer. It won't connect as media device (MTP) or as a camera (PTP). Any ideas and help would be appreciated

Probably a driver issue. I'm on win7 and just went through heck getting usb connection to work after jelly bean. Grab new drivers from Samsung, wipe your old ones, restart and install new and restart. Don't know if any of this applies to mac Os, but hope it helps. You could also try Kies for Mac which installs drivers during the installation.
