Re: Better keyboard?
Swiftkey has a free version but it's totally worth paying for the paid version too.

I am a fan of thumb keyboard. Used it on my Motorola Photon and am using it on my new GS3!

Re: Better keyboard?
I've been using Smart Keyboard Pro for several months on my SG note. The resizable keyboard should help you greatly.
Best of all, the custom text feature allows me to create long messages with just a few keystrokes.
You can try out all of the features with the free trial and if it works for you switch to the pro version to get rid of the NAG messages. - 12-04-2012, 08:12 AM #15
Re: Better keyboard?
I use GOkeyboard and I absolutely love it. The word predictions and smoothness of the interface are awesome. The best part of GOkeyboard is how customizable it is. I, along with many other users on here, have also changed from the stock messaging app to GOsms. Awesome notifications, widget and custom theme options to match the rest of my phone. They seem to make great products.
I tried swiftkey and it's also a great keyboard.... simply a matter of preference. I personally missed GOkeyboard when I gave it a shot, but some people swear it has features that cant be matched. Try them both yourself and decide, but definitely do not overlook GOkeyboard.

Re: Better keyboard?
I'm trying to imagine typing with my thumbs but just can't make it work, especially on this larger screen. The phone is a bit more difficult to balance in one hand while typing with one thumb, so I don't even try. Personally, I love Swype and cannot stand having to peck-type on the screen. The stock keyboard has the swiping feature, but it's not QUITE as good as Swype. I tried Swiftkey when Amazon had it for free, but just couldn't get into it. If they offer the Flow version as a free upgrade for current app-owners, I'll give it a shot.

Re: Better keyboard?
I tried all the (free) keyboards available and found swiftkey 3 to be the best for my style of typing. It was so good for the month I had it that I bought it....and on sale for $1.99

Re: Better keyboard?
Smart Keyboard Pro here. Love it. Didn't really like SwiftKey myself - it just didn't "feel" as nice as Smart did. Both have free trials nowadays. I think both Smart and Swift are worth the money - have a friend who really likes Swift on his GS3.

Swype Beta 1.3.5 10176 - working awesome on the Sprint S3
Much better than the Swype included with the phone.

Re: Better keyboard?
The new SwiftKey Flow beta just released today and and is pretty smooth. I'm using it to post this. Once I get used to șwiping, I'm sure I'll love it. Looks like it'll be a free upgrade when it comes out of Beta.

Re: Better keyboard?
I'm using it. Right off the bat, I wish it would give options for words after swyping. So if I'm not accurate enough, it just throws out whatever it thinks I meant to say. I wish it would give options like regular swift key would. I loved using Swype and I wish it would meld the functionalities.
Also, I notice that the swiping doesn't work with some apps. Has anyone else experienced that problem?
