    Default "No Sim Card" Problem?

Well, for some reason after trying to unroot my phone (using this guide: ) I get a message saying "No Sim Card", I even tried to restore my phone to a backed up version that I did before trying to unroot my phone, still no luck and still same message saying "No Sim Card"

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Would be appreciated

Edit - Upon updating it (settings -> System Update -> Update Samsung Software) it seemed to have fixed it within the 2nd or 3rd update, is there anyway I can transfer my apps, contacts, text messages, etc off of the backup version? For some reason my backup version has the "No Sim Card" error although its updated ;|

I had the same problem. I went to the Verizon store. They replaced the SIM card at the no cost. That resolved the problem. I think I got lucky.

    Welcome to A|C, plagiarize.

Just to make sure, you do have a Sprint SPH-L710 version of the Galaxy, right?

If not, I'd suggest reposting in the forum for your carrier. But assuming you do have a Sprint, the SIM card in the S3 is non-removable. I've only seen this happen with phone that had the MEID altered, and were unrooted without changing the MEID back to the original value. Is that the case with your phone?

In terms of the backup, the answer is maybe, and it depends. How did you create the backup?

The Play Store will remember the apps you purchased and downloaded and, if you're using the same Google account, will let you download them again. That won't get your settings back, unfortunately. If your contacts were backed up to Google (you have that option when you first set up the phone), you should get them back the first time you log into the account.

Oh, one more thought. Have you tried restoring your backup, with the error, and then doing the same thing you did on your new install to try to eliminate the error?
PLEASE, when asking for help provide as much information as possible. Otherwise, it's like calling your doctor and saying "My head hurts." Your doctor can't treat you unless he knows whether you have a headache or a concussion, and we can't help unless we know what the symptoms are and what you did before they occurred.

My thought is some Superuser apps have a full unroot option. You can try that. I am under the impression that you are rooted again?
