I recent;y downloaded Whatsapp for my S3. Before Whatsapp, I had "Sync" and "AutoSync" off in various menus, and selected Manual Sync for my Email and Gmails via the email apps; after Whatapp, it seems my Email (but not Gmail) has switched to Push Email *even though* the menus still show Manual. Obviously, such a situation causes a battery consumption issue.

I uninstalled Whatsapp and deleted any vestigial Whatsapp folders in My Files, but my Main Email (which I use for corporate MS Exchange) is still Push. So, questions about this:

* Has anyone else experienced this?
* Am I missing something here?
* Is there another Settings option that might control Syncing of email?
* Is there another Jellybean 4.1.1 app or widget that might be causing this? (ex. the weather widget)
