The volume on my alarm is too low. I can't hear it.

Any chance you are rooted? If so, there is a great Rom called The People's Rom that lets you increase the volume for the entire device either 50% or 100% higher. I'm hard of hearing and the 50% increase really is great. If you are rooted, you can find the Rom here.

In the specific alarm, right below the alarm type is the volume control. Is that set to maximum? You could also try setting your main volume to the highest setting at night, although I don't think this will work.

I have the same problem with my unrooted SIII. I emailed an mp3 song to myself, downloaded it on my phone, and play that as an alarm sound. When selecting the alarm tone just select "add" and choose the song. Problem solved but the standard alarm sounds that come with the phone are still too low on volume.

Thanks so much for the reply. As a matter of fact, I just rooted my phone yesterday because I'm not able to get MMS on my S3. I still can't but I do have the rooted phone now. I'm technally challenged but someone recommended a youtube to follow and I did it...nervously. To be honest I don't even know what having a rooted phone does. I was just told it would help with me getting MMS.

That app sounds great with all it does. I'll have to read thru the long thread. I have no idea if I'm jellybean, gingerbread or hokie pokie. lol so not even sure it would work on my phone. I'd hate to download it and it mess up my phone for some reason but I'll read the thread. Thanks for the suggestion.

I did end up app: Speaker Boost and it helps a little. I also went to Zedge and downloaded louder alarms so that helped too.

Regarding the MMS issue, try updating your PRL and Profile (Settings / System Update)

If that doesn't work, try this: Reset data by dialing ##72786#
Your phone will reboot a few times. That's normal.

Try some different alarm sounds. Some are much louder then others.
