    Default Dropped S3: Black screen + No touch

    I dropped it and now the screen is black. I don't think the touch screen works either. Can I send this to Samsung to get repaired for ~$200 or is it beyond repair? Or, in your guys opinions, should I just get a new phone, etc? I have to wait until feb 2015 for my contract to be over.

    might as well get a new phone, don't like taking chances on repaired, used phones. Another option you can try is taking the battery out for a bit, put it back in and try powering it on (if not tried already). Also a good opportunity to get a unlocked phone this time.

    Id see about getting it fixed and weigh the cost against that of a new phone including the cost, so far, of the phone you dropped.

    I don't how much Samsung will charge to repair it. Why not ask them? There may be local repair shops in your area that will do it cheaper, too, but you should make sure they warranty their repair. The glass / screen / digitizer assembly itself sells for about $180 retail, so a repair would be at least $200.

    You could probably get a used S3 for that price, but you're taking some risk doing that, of course.

    I asked and they gave me a price of $180, except I'm not sure if the person understood that I needed all three repaired. I will check local repair shops and hope for the best. Thank you!

    If you pm me ill give you a step by step way to get best buy to pay for it and it would only cost you about 60$ and 50 of that is returned after they replace/ fix it

    Hi, I just dropped my S3 and the screen has gone black, I can hear it charge,work and beep for msgs but the screen wont work. Can you please help?

    Please send me this info as well! Best buy never offered me insurance, I got there right before they closed and they literally flew through the whole process I even had to come back the next day to get my galaxy s3 booklet that came in the box and he took out and in a rush forgot to give back. My phone was dropped now I have an uninsured phone.... this sux!!
