SD card won't mount

So my phone did some automatic updates from the Galaxy Apps app, went to clear the update notification but instead accidentally tap the app. App opens, I close it and now there's another notification, an error. Says my SD card was removed and unmounted. I go into settings and storage, Mount SD card is grayed out. I tried restarting, shutting off and on, and removing the card, still can't mount it. Any suggestions? Did my card just die on me?

Try putting your SD card in another device, or into a computer. If your computer can still read it and read/write the contents on the card, back up all of it on your PC, and reformat the card.

For better results, try putting the card back into the device, and reformat it through Android.
