Echo rebooting on its own...

Mine rebooted at least once every 10 minutes. It seemed like it was related to roaming. But ever since updating to gingerbread there has been no rebooting problems

Ironically, I was just in a Sprint store a few hours ago, complaining of a different problem (phone service occasionally and texting often suddenly closes with an error), when I mentioned having this same problem originally with me (2-month-old) phone.

At the time, phone tech support assured me that it was just my phone updating itself and then rebooting... ... despite the fact that this was happening daily.

The salesman in the store agreed: it had nothing to do with updates. It was a known problem with software, and he believed it had been corrected in a recent upgrade; so my new phone (which hadn't received the update) would often spuriously reboot, but eventually got the update, and quit doing that.

tl;dr: A Sprint salesman said their phones do this, and it needs a firmware upgrade.

Current uptime 115 hours. Fully updated and roaming disabled. Haven't dropped a call in two months so I guess roaming support is totally unnecessary where I live and work.

I have occasional reboots but nothing out of the ordinary. Eveyone should check out an app called Fast Reboot. It does not require root and it frees up some memory within 2 seconds.

I've been using for awhile now and it helps with overall stability.

Xoom+Root = Perfect Match

Pretty sure its a bug in froyo for this phone. I was having lots of reboots when mine was on 2.2.1, but ever since I updated to 2.3.4 it hasnt rebooted once.

My Echo restarts even after 2.3.4, though after reading this thread and the thread on Sprint's community site I disabled automatic updates of apps, uninstalled Advanced Task Killer, and installed Fast Reboot to see if these changes have any effect.

Who is rooted with custom recovery? Its possible to recover if USB debugging is enabled and you have a PC.

If your at all familiar with ADB, you can save it by plugging into your PC. I had that problem awhile back and was able to get it to my recovery using ADB.
