Sprint LG G2: Google Play Music issue?

Just installing it now. Sure hope so! I may need to take the sprint Spotify free trial and see if it has gotten any better over the last year.

I contacted LG UK / Ireland and this is the response i got:

Thank you for your query regarding your D802.

"I am sorry to hear about the issues that you are having with your handset, I have forwarded this on to Head Office to see if we have any resolution for this issue as this is not a known issue that we have heard of, although you have shown a link to the forum.

I will create you a customer file and as soon as I receive any information I will email you back regarding this, for you now the best option will be to call our authorised repair centre Fone Menders to book your handset in for a repair."

Even though on XDA a guy reckoned Google said this:

[Q] Google Play Music broken after 4.4.2? - xda-developers

"Hello I understand you are getting a Music Playback Error on your LG G2 after updating to the Kit Kat software. I want you to know we have a team of specialists working very hard to resolve this issue. At this time their is a compatibility issue with the newest version of Kit Kat that was rolled out by the carrier to the LG G2.

We are working very hard to resolve this and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'd recommend using a different device for now but I totally understand if you wish to cancel the service. If you'd like I can cancel this subscription and refund you for your troubles. Please let me know what you decide, I'll be in touch with you as soon as I receive a response from our engineers."

So is the problem with LG then or the Google play music app?

Rockin my LG G2

Guess i better stop complaining to Google about it then lol

Rockin my LG G2

Keep the pressure up with both Google and LG depechemodegurl. It could be a Google issue.

I really hope it is sorted as I do not want to move to Spotify and I can't afford to get a new phone for a while as I just got the G2

LG UK / Ireland got back to me:

"I have escalated your case regarding the Google Play Music Application to Head Office, they have advised me that they have also raised this issue to Google as they are the developers. Therefore Google Play should be rolling out a maintenance update to resolve this issue.

If you would like to speak to Google their telephone number is 0800 328 6081. They should be able to advise you further due to this not being the LG Handset causing this issue but is the Google Application.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. "

So i do not know if it a case of LG passing the buck or if it is a Google issue?

Here is the latest that I have received from Google support. I've been having the same issues since upgrading to 4.4.2

"I wanted to follow up with you about your issue with the LG G2 and let you know I've processed two courtesy refunds for the inability to access your All Access Subscription for Google Play Music. At this time this is still under investigation because this was supposed to be resolved in the last update.

Currently LG is investigating the LG G2 and LG Optimus devices. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and I wanted to let you know the status of this issue. When LG provides a fix for this I will follow up with you if you'd like me to. At this time there is no estimated time of arrival for a fix. You may continue to use the service on a compatible device such as a computer, tablet, or other smart phone. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to reply directly to this email for additional support."

So silly, I've contacted LG and they told me they have no record of the issue. Seems to me that it's never going to be fixed if they keep passing the buck to each other....
Fyi- my S3 is on kit Kat and it does not have this problem.

I got a response from Google for what it is worth:

"Thanks for contacting Google Support. I understand you are having trouble with your music. We have been experiencing some device specific issues with the LG G2 phones. We are currently collecting information on this issue, and should be releasing an update shortly.

If you really want a refund, let me know and I will process one for you. Be aware that, doing so will cancel your subscription and the introductory pricing that your
currently getting."

I will give them two months for a fix, and if not then i will swap to Spotify even though it is two euro more expensive.

Any resolution for the LG G2 playback issues? I am still within my trial period and I was hoping to continue this service as opposed to paying to download itunes songs all the time. Oh well. I am not an Apple fan, but I will say that I have never had such issues with the itunes. Fix IT Google. Please.

I am having this same issue on my Sprint LG G Flex, but I don't think it is an isolated LG issue, it has to be an issue with the Play music app, because I started having these same problems 2 months ago on my Galaxy Nexus too. I loved All Access until 2 months ago when I started having these issues.

Finally got it working on my G Flex, the thing that actually got it working was to disable battery saver.

i contacted google on the phone here in the uk and the rep told me its a isolated issue with lg phones and that no fix was in the pipeline as far as he knew.he even told me to use another streaming service instead!
