LG Marquee Rev.B capable?
I have a question about LG Marquee. Will it be be EV-DO Rev B capable? We all know that Sprint is going to upgrade their network into Do-advanced,although we didn't know when it will roll out. I wish it will be capable so I can enjoy the upgraded speed when it comes. So far, after some research and checking FCC documents, I can confirm that this phone supports the new CDMA800 band, not only the 850 band. It will help us a lot on the reception in the future. So far, if we can figure out if Rev.B is support (based on the baseband chip), then it will be a good buy.

Re: LG Marquee Rev.B capable?
EvDO Rev.B is the slower version of EvDO. Rev A is the faster one, what am I missing here?

Re: LG Marquee Rev.B capable?
EV-DO Rev. B is a multi-carrier evolution of the Rev. A specification. It maintains the capabilities of EV-DO Rev. A, and provides the following enhancements:
Higher rates per carrier (up to 4.9 Mbit/s on the downlink per carrier). Typical deployments are expected to include 2 or 3 carriers for a peak rate of 14.7 Mbit/s. Higher rates by bundling multiple channels together enhance the user experience and enables new services such as high definition video streaming.
Reduced latency by using statistical multiplexing across channels -- enhances the experience for latency sensitive services such as gaming, video telephony, remote console sessions and web browsing.
Increased talk-time and standby time
Reduced interference from the adjacent sectors especially to users at the edge of the cell signal which improves the rates that can be offered by using Hybrid frequency re-use.
Efficient support for services that have asymmetric download and upload requirements (i.e. different data rates required in each direction) such as file transfers, web browsing, and broadband multimedia content delivery. - 10-28-2011, 09:23 PM #11

Re: LG Marquee Rev.B capable?
"[nosajsam]so if I am reading your post correctly, Rev B is better than Rev A which is currently on the phone correct??
do you mind talking me through how to do this??
also could you tell me how to disable NAI for tethering....thx! "
If I had to guess REV B will be used in a future firmware update of the phone once its live (if ever).
I changed my phone to REV B and it made no diffrence so I changed it back to REV A.
Here is a way to get to the setting now if you want.
Download and install Launcher Pro from the market. Its free.
Use Launcher Pro or any other Launcher as your default.
Long press an empty space in your home screen.
click shortcut
click activities
scroll down to com.lge.hiddenmenu
expand com.lge.hiddenmenu
click network select 6th from the bottom in com.lge.hiddenmenu category.
click EVDO revision.
This will let you select REV 0, A or B
phone will reboot after selection
One thing I found quite useful in the secret menu was in Data Setting.
click DUN NAI
and under extend modem change it to no
this will allow you to tether without the charge from Sprint.
I found that this setting has to be changed ever time the phone restarts.
Not a big deal since you create a shortcut with launcher pro
I hope this helpsLast edited by timf76; 10-29-2011 at 12:35 AM.
