You weren't by chance trying it while your phone was plugged into your computer were you?

Well great oden's raven, as a matter of fact I WAS.

Does the wireless tether app work for 4g? If it doesnt Im switching back to the stock option.

(I live barely outside 4G so I cant test this right now)

The app works for both 3G and 4G.

The stock option only does 3G BUT connects via infrastructure vs ad-hoc.

What's the difference b/w info and ad-hoc?

The reason that gets the biggest buzz these days is some tablets....I think the Zoom and the Samsung's....need to connect to an infrastructure setup. Laptop wise it doesn't really matter that I'm aware of unless you want to start worrying about range and how many devices are connected, etc.
