Well using the Nexus and ICS built in tethering options you have to enable wifi and hotspot to tether and seeing how that working I would say yes the hotspot should function.

??? As in free wireless tether or you need to be on sprint's hotspot program? If not- can someone point the direction to a thread with instructions? Would love to try this... can you tether any kind of device or just PC's only? I've had issues with tethering my wife's ipad (sorry no android tablet yet) to certain tether apps before.

Built in wifi tethering is working great with this ROM found at XDA: [ROM] [04 JAN] [4.0.3] Almost Vanilla v3 built by sph33r

It is a fantastic ROM all around. MMS working both ways, Google Wallet works, and it's quick and stable. Pretty close to stock ICS too. Reboot added to the shutdown menu is one of the few addons.
