Default micro usb not making contact

some of my micro usb charging cables have stropped making solid contract with the nexus usb port. meaning that unless some certain angle is maintained on the plug/cord, phone will not charge.

    two specific chargers:

    • motorola 'factory' car charger
    • 18-24 inch 'quality' usb cables connected to 12v usb adapter
    • above connections worked fine prior to this 4 month old nexus

    samsung factory cable is fine.

so, i worry the nexus usb port is bad, or will get worse over time from creating pressure to ensure positive contact.

    any similar issues out there?

    (yes, searched prior to posting)

Look at the wire end from then side and see if the plug is bent. The us port on the phone is strog. I sat on it once and the plug bent. The phone port is a brick. Take the plug and push down on a hard surface if it is bent and it should bend back and work with the nexus fine.

Same here. The original cord still works fine for me though, not sure if it's even possible but I find the OEM cable to take way too long to charge my phone cuz its so thin. Good old BlackBerry charger is always my default!
