So guys I used to have an evo 4G and it got to the point where the battery was the only thing I wanted to last, so i disabled all animations, as soon as I got my nexus I did the same thing, after 5 months I randomly thought to enable them and omg I'm in love with my phone all over again! I encourage everyone to enable your animations and enjoy your phones!
