Exciting! This is almost like getting an early Christmas present. Can't wait for the update to show up online so we can manually update our phones.

I hope this means our version isn't far off. I'm sure it obviously takes more time since GSM version is always a priority and to make sure WiMax works.

Seeing how they have released the binaries for the NS4G for ICS 4.0.3 we will probably at least see some custom ROMs built very soon :)

I'm pretty sure we will see ICS before the end of Jan. Maybe even the middle of Jan. We all know its coming. If the GSM version is done all the have to do is adjust for CDMA and WiMax. Not the end of the world. Let google enjoy Xmas and the new year.

Absolutely!!!! I'm not in any hurry to do an ota update. I have my phone rooted and see no reason to go back to stock. I'm just gonna wait it out and load a custom rom when they come out. Besides, I am willing to bet there will be custom roms based on the ota binaries before the ota's even released.

With these source roms....are they the same as the OTA?

Not right now as these are still early works and things are either broken or missing. When an OTA comes out, they are tested by Google and should be 100% with everything working. That's why I'm waiting as this is my only phone and I use it for work and need it to be stable.

my guess is the gsm focus is to continue the google wallet rollout, since the ns4g got it, now the vzw nexus has it, and AT&T nexus will further broaden the google wallet penetration.

The Verizon Nexus doesn't have Wallet. You have to load it your own way.
