Just a question, how are these other SMS apps better than the stock one?

I don't really take advantage of all the extra features of GO SMS, but it has a lot of interface options (themes, color tweaking, etc.), it can split text messages that are over the character limit, you can schedule messages to be delivered at a certain time, create backups (and schedule them) and create folders.

I'm sure there's other stuff. I know on GOSMS you can create little sketches to send (called 'doodles') and all the silly smilie stuff...plus there is a file sharing feature I've never really looked into.

Also...if you're like me and haven't rooted and don't have ICS, it has a screenshot feature (although it's only screenshots within the application itself).

I find it slows my phone down and causes crashes too. I've installed several times to test to see if it is the app that causes the issues and I think it does.

I like that the app is able to send MMS (which the native app struggles to do), but I dont need the other stuff. I just want a clean simple app, like the native one, that just works!!!

I use GoSmsPro on my stock SNS4G but for some reason if it goes over the character limit the second text is all weird icons. Anyone else have this issue?

Go to Settings->Send Settings and then check the split large messages box.
