I've noticed that both the 3G and 4G receptions have improved. I now get full 4G bars in locations that were weaker before, and a bar or two more for 3G. Yet speeds haven't increased and are basically the same as before according to speed tests I've done.

If this is the case then I may consider going back to the Nexus S 4g. It was really the only thing I couldn't live with.

I have an iPhone 4 right now and it's pretty boring. Might hold out of the Evo LTE though.

I've definitely noticed reception improvement. Not only that, the indicator in the status bar is now honest about when you're connected via 1x instead of 3G/EvDO.

I haven't noticed a data slowdown like one or two people have mentioned in other threads. I assume that they were syncing a bunch of data after their upgrade had finished (movies, books, apps, etc.).

Haven't noticed any difference. True test for me will be tomorrow at work where I typically get terrible service. I don't expect any miracles though. :p

Houston area

Before update (stats from last May)
at work 4G - 3,435kbps down......924kbps up

at work 3G - 373kbps down.......581kbps up

----------

After update at work:

4G - 3,040kbps down....1,370kbps up

3G - 470kbps down....310kbps up

-----------

Reception seems better. I typically drop call at same spot everyday driving back home from work. Yesterday, it didn't drop.

Also seeing better reception.... 3G speeds are markedly improved in my area at home... usually got 99-150Kb/s, now getting between 400-800Kb/s.

Still get a dropped call here and there, but they are in places my old Palm Pre dropped too.... dip in cell coverage I believe.

At work however... (this is in a cinderblock basement).
