This question seems to be asked millions of times for lots of devices, but I cant get a definite answer about the Nexus S's hotspot in infrastructure mode capability, OR settings in the app that will actually make it work.

Anyone have the workaround?

If rooted. Wifi tether. Settings choose Nexus s, under that for connectivity settings select Netd. Will work as infostructure.

If not rooted can try pdanet n it'll need PC access too n acts as a modem by USB.

WiFi tether for root refuses to work, but FoxFi DOES work.

My theory is as good an any but seems like the ICS update isn't playing nice with the infrastructure mode driver (netd) on my handset. *shrug*
