On CM9, lost 20% battery in 8hrs w/deep idle on. Can I do better?
I installed CM9 and it has improved my battery over stock. However, not quite as much as I'd like. On stock, I typically lost about 30% overnight. With CM9, in three times of leaving it idle I've done a little better:
8hrs 2m: lost 20%
6hrs 25m: lost 18%
9hrs 49m: lost 26%
Other than deep idle, what other settings can really help improve battery life? Using conservative governor? A different kernel? Something else? - 08-13-2012, 10:58 AM #2

Thanks. I've seen others suggest turning off wifi as well. A few questions:
1. Won't this make any background apps like Exchange run on 3G radio? Isn't that radio a bigger battery drain?
(And I can't seem to turn off Email's exchange checking. I've set it to Never, but it still keeps checking exchange accounts!)
2. Are there any issues with any apps from turning off wifi during sleep?
Also, are there any optimizations I can do to help improve battery life during usage? (I have the screen at 5% brightness) - 08-13-2012, 12:54 PM #4
You can disable data entirely by enabling airplane mode from the power menu. Or just data from settings

Get SetCPU and setup a "screen off" profile.
Leave your WiFi on. - 08-13-2012, 06:54 PM

2. Nope, not that i know off.. my wifi go to deep sleep and switch itself off at night... I havent had any issues yet.
screen takes up a lot of juice when in use... setting the brightness to low will increase battery life by a lot. - 08-14-2012, 01:39 AM #9
