Re: Ns4g 4.12 & 4.2
I'll get 4.2 via CM10. No worries for me.

Re: Ns4g 4.12 & 4.2
This phone just gets laggier and the battery life gets lousier at each update. It's probably best that we don't get 4.2...it would probably go dead from full charge in about 35 minutes.
I've really enjoyed this device until the last few months when it's just become buggy and drags at times, forcing me to reboot. Even after factory resets it gets this way, so I think I'm ready to move on. Right now I'm just undecided about whether to buy off-contract until we can switch providers or if I should commit to a contract device...maybe a GS3 or an Optimus G. - 11-16-2012, 10:10 AM #6

Re: Ns4g 4.12 & 4.2
Although I know the NS4G isn't going to be officially supported, it makes me sad to know we are getting left behind.
I do agree that each update has been bringing more and more bugs and lag.
I really don't care much for the lockscreen widgets, and could see those being potentially hazardous and causing more lag.
Although I would like to be using the "quick-settings" option, that seems really helpful and quick. - 11-18-2012, 10:07 AM #9
Re: Ns4g 4.12 & 4.2
I think the biggest problem here is the OTA updates. Although part of the "attraction" to a Nexus phone is direct OS updates, the community can (and does) do a better job on older phones. I don't think Google has put nearly the time into this phone that they used to. 4.x updates are probably best left to the Cyanogenmod team or AOKP, which is where I'll be looking for updates in the future.

Re: Ns4g 4.12 & 4.2
Thing that most forget is Google builds the OS around the GSM nexus model. So everything is made to work on there then it is ported in a sense to the rest of the nexus. That is when things break down due to CDMA/LTE and all the proprietary files that are exclusive to the non gsm models.
I always look to the development community because they always clean up the mess left behind by Google or the OEM's.
