I need some expert help saving my wife's Nexus S 4G. It's completely stock, not rooted, with a locked bootloader.

The battery died while the phone was downloading the "additional files" for a game, and now it's bootlooping. It goes from the Google logo to the 4 colored X and then back to the Google logo. I thought I'd try to wipe the cache and dalvik cache from recovery, but when I booted into recovery there was a red exclamation point that I couldn't get past.

I've rooted and flashed custom ROMs on my Galaxy Nexus, so I'm pretty comfortable with adb and fastboot. (I never used ODIN though.) Any idea what I should do?

I know I could flash all the stock img files (where are they?) via the bootloader, but then she would loose all her data, which she wants to avoid. Is there anything to try that could save her data?

Thanks in advance for the help.
