Nexus S or iPhone 4S?

If you haven't already purchased a Nexus S for yourself, are you more inclined to wait for the iPhone 4S to hit Sprint as is rumored?

If you have already bought your Nexus, don't reply, unless you plan to take it back and wait!

The iPhone 4S will probably launch near the time of the new Nexus phone.

I think the correct answer to this poll for the majority of people is 'neither'.

Honestly, I still would have got a Nexus S, the iphone won't be 4g. AND who wants a locked down playform. The nexus s is completely open just like the pre was.

iOS is no more locked down than webs or android. You gotta root all of them...

I own a Verizon iPhone, its my first and last idevice I'll ever own so no, I wouldn't get another idevice no matter which carrier or radio chip it has.

Exactly. Jailbreaking an iPhone and installing Cydia is the same exact thing as rooting and installing a custom ROM. Dont know why so many Android fanboys think the iPhone is so "locked down". An iPhone with a jailbreak can do anything a rooted Android phone can. Probably more seeing as how there are way more iPhone apps. I still prefer Android though.

The iphone 4s won't have widgets, sideloading, advance notifications, and just full on functionality.

Keep in mind it is still a rumor. There was a similar rumor previously that didn't pan out.

With that said, these type of questions crack me up (no offense to the up). In my opinion they are both great devices. It depends on what you want/need. I don't understand the battle between "this os is best". There's no denying they both have good qualities and the ability to sell. The numbers are the proof. I always say go with what fits your needs. This is coming from a Mac user with Android devices and I'm not one to say one is better then the other.

To me its like asking someone "what should I buy a car or a truck?". The answer is whatever one fits your needs best.

WebOS does not require rooting, it's only a matter of entering the konami code in just type and enabling dev mode.

I'm on a Sprint Pre and currently waiting for the EVO 3D. If it's more than $200, I'll get the Nexus S 4G.

it is completly not like that. jailbreak and cydia is first allowing you to install apps from not market and then its an app that shows allows you to get them for free. So based on that jailbreaking an android is as east as going to settings and allowing unknown sources. There is an app just like cydia for android that you need no hacking to use. With a jailbroken iphone you are still on there stupid ios and nothing is customized or overclocked. So two compare those two is completely different things.

Then you gotta install webOS Quick Install, then you gotta get Preware, etc, etc. Yep, still using a Pre myself.

If the Nexus weren't having these issues with the radios, I would have gotten one earlier this week. But I'm glad I waited. Although I'm really itching to get my hands on a new phone.

Yeah, I wasn't looking to start a debate over which is best, just which one people might be leaning toward.

I think I would only go for it if it has 4G. And yes, it may not pan out. Otherwise, I will probably get either the Nexus or the EVO, and I can see what the iPhone 5 offers next year. I have a Mac Mini, and 2 MBPs in my house. And an Apple TV. And numerous iPods. But I have never had an iPhone because I've always been a Sprint customer.

Up 'till now, Sprint has been MUCH cheaper than the competition. With my SERO plan before the Pre, and now with the new $10 smartphone fee (x4 phones in my household), they won't be very much cheaper than the competition any more....

I understand. If it comes to Sprint I think I'll check it out. But I also plan on buying an Evo 3d so who knows. I swap phones too much! The good thing if it does happen is as consumers it gives us more choices which I'm a big fan of.

iphone is a great device (with and without cydia) if youre a boring loon :-P

in all seriousness, it comes down to personal preference... i had an iphone for 2.5 3yrs before android and it's a really great piece of technology, personally for me i cant see myself going back. indecisive at times but im glad i stuck it out with android, had the evo for nearly a year and now have the nexus s. theres no explaining to why i like android better, to me, it just works.. plain and simple.

The one good thing about the iPhone is that when new features are introduced, Apple makes sure that they work first. I get nervous with new Android phones because the devices need several updates to get them working decently. And some of them never get to that point unless you root.
