I thought 4.0 was gonna be Ice Cream, because it brings together tablet and phone UIs.

    Maybe....

But why would a Nexus S get an update to 2.4.... why wouldn't it just be 2.3.5. I don't like this article.

You would think so, but it wouldn't be unprecedented to make such a number jump. Eclair was Android 2.0 and 2.1.

This is probably just Sprint's fix for the free tethering...

Keep in mind, it also has a rumor tag, so it could be someone guessing.

I'm confused. Why would Sprint by handling an OS update on a Nexus phone? Every Nexus to date gets the software update directly from Google's servers.

Is the Sprint NS4G different for some reason?

I'm sure Sprint is heavily involved in the next update considering the major problem is network issues between the Nexus and Sprint.

This. If the article us true, and we can only hope it is, I'm sure Sprint wants to make sure its going to work with their service so they can sell more phones.

I'm sure Sprint would be involved in any radio updates as well.

I just hope it's coming soon cause the radio issues are starting to **** me off. But wait. I'm confused with the numbers. Google doesn't have order, lol.

    I retract my previous statement.

Isn't 2.4 still gingerbread but for other devices aside from the nexus? What's ICD? 4.0?

This phone is beastly. The radio issue fix would literally be the butter for this (ginger)bread. LoL

But really. I love this phone. I get pretty good signal and my data comes through fine but especially after rooting and getting it customized and ready to tether, I need a stable reliable connection and a real 4g strength signal. 4g is all around me and just reaches my house. Cmon Sprint/Nexus/Samsung/God hook it up :o)

I think 2.4 will still be Gingerbread. A couple of days after the NS4G launch, a co-worker of mine activated one and it had a weird background image and when we went to the "About phone" screen, it said the software version was 2.4 and the build number said GINGERBREAD

This statement rings true for more than just the Nexus 4g and its radios, I think this works for any device when it comes to performance issues. Put any number you want in the OS just give us something that fixes it!

I really hate when people talk about "possibilities" just don't it or don't, but don't have me wanting a "possibility" lol
