I'm sure many of you have already seen what the newest version of Motorola's "Application software" or "BLUR" looks like. Both the Droid 3 and the upcoming Droid Bionic are running it. Does anyone know if the Photon will be upgraded to this latest version? I'm actually kind of surprised it didn't come with it at launch.

According to Motorola, we don't have "Blur". On their forums, they said if you had Blur you would need to sign in. They also posted that since we don't have "Blur" then we won't be getting the same OS as the droid series.

I saw that. Bunch of corporate nonsense. His answer implied that the technology Verizon employs has anything to do with what launcher or lockscreen a phone uses.

I don't think either of them are blur. Isn't Droid 3 advertised as having the "Motorola Application Platform" (just rolls off the toungue) same as the Photon (at a diff version)?

Aside from the lock screen and moving icons around (plus symbol), all of that seems like they are on the Photon, right now. Maybe the widgets, but I don't use them from Moto anyways.

I Don't care about getting the new "blur" I care about getting ice cream sandwich.. I don't think is going to happen until a year from now... Sprint surprise me!.... please...:)

From what I understand the Photon isn't using Blur.

And the Droid 3 as well as the upcoming Droid Bionic are not using "Blur" either. It's now called "Motorola application software". Question still remains--- Will the Photon get this latest version of whatever the hell they are calling it????

There was nothing in that video that I saw that was not on the Photon save the lockscreen and launcher.Even the dock functions the same.

Same. Visually, some things looked a little different, but in terms of features it looks exactly the same.

It is essentially the same. The Photon does not have the 3D like transition effect when swiping through homescreens, the new lockscreen, or the horizontal app drawer, but it functions very similarly.

I personally hate horizontal app drawers, too much like the iPhone. Give my my vertical scroller any day!

Some of the features of this updated MotoUI look pretty nice, but I won't lose any sleep if the Photon doesn't get it. I hide most of this behind a replacement launcher anyway.
