[ACS][HOW TO] Rooting, Unrooting, Flashing Etc.(13 videos)11/2/11
Hey everyone! I have recently obtained a Motorola Photon 4G and will be making lots of how to videos for it! I do see there are a lot of written guides, but no videos. I did make many how to videos for the Samsung Epic and I got such a wonderful response from everyone, I figured I would expand to different devices.
Please post suggestions to future videos in this thread, or PM me!
I will be posting more how to videos very soon

Re: [ACS][HOW TO] Rooting, Unrooting, Flashing Etc.(8 videos) 9/1
Alright qbking ... thanks for the video ... but ... I need some help after getting stuck after following your shown steps:
I didn't reboot my PC after installing the Motorola drivers (you showed them just "repairing"). I think this is the reason that during the root process the root.bat got stuck after
...
deleting all yo ****
Wait for phone to reconnect ...
I waited, waited, waited, dismounting the phone, plugging in back in, always making sure its "Charge only" at least 5 times. Root.bat still stuck!
I decided to dismount the phone and reboot the PC, then try the Root.bat again. I did, it started well but then got a mixture of a bunch of error lines and success lines on the CMD screen, see attached IMG, which ended up just like in the video with
...
"You should have root access!"
Press any key to continue....
I installed Superuser and Root Checker. Using Root Check - Basic to verify root access gives me. NB I did reboot a couple of times and still get the following:
"Sorry, you don't have root access..."
The detailed root check shows me (I'm pretty I typed this correctly):
"Root access is not properly configured or was not granted.
Superuser.apk - com.noshufou.android.su - version 2.3.6.3 is installed!
System Environment PATH: /sbin /vendor/bin /system/sbin /system/bin /system/xbin
The adb binary is set to default shell user access as a standard non-root user
Standard su binary location: ls -l /system/bin/su:
/system/bin/su: No such file or directory
Standard su binary location: ls -l /system/xbin/su:
/system/xbin/su: No such file or directory
Alternate su binary location: /sbin/su: No such file or directory
Alternate su type binary location: /system/xbin/sudo: No such file or directory
SU binary not found or not operating properly"
Where to go from here?? Do I have to revers the attempted root process, and how? This was the second try using this root.bat, I guess it doesn't make sense to try it again, does it? Or should I just try rooting with another method?? I have noticed that the battery drained really quickly in the last couple of hours.
Please help. Thanks! - 09-25-2011, 07:03 PM #18

Re: [ACS][HOW TO] Rooting, Unrooting, Flashing Etc.(8 videos) 9/1
for what ever reason its not giving me the root.bat file when i extract it. i did find the windows batch file and ran it and it seems to work the same way except it keeps saying 'source not found'
I am running windows 7 but have Ubuntu available if that is the problem.
it does say at the end should be rooted but when i look after the last reboot. nothing
i wonder what i am doing wrong? - 09-25-2011, 08:52 PM

Re: [ACS][HOW TO] Rooting, Unrooting, Flashing Etc.(8 videos) 9/1
still did not work.
Does it matter that there is not a file called root.bat in the folder? - 09-26-2011, 09:54 AM
