Sounds corrupted or bad battery or no charging issue,

I assume you checked the battery (check it for swelling, leakage, etc & try another known good battery), the batt is now
over a year old, if it's worn out or bad it will cause the shutdown issue by no longer holding a charge....

& charging, ie use another USB or power cable, if charging on computer another USB Port & different AC power supply

Also don't know if stock ROM or not, if not stock ROM can be an issue

Did you do a battery pull to clear any corruption (remove the battery for 20-30 minutes or so then put it back)?
