Blocking Group SMS Messages

How can I block group SMS messages? It really T's me off when I get in someone's group, then people start replying to the original message. I don't care about all of those reply's and I want a way to block them.

I see how I can block individual contacts, but I don't have all of these numbers in my contact list, and I don't want to add them to my contact list. I would like to select the numbers in the group, and block them, but I don't see that as an option.

Any suggestions on how to block group SMS messages?

I don't know if the stock messaging app has this ability, but with Textra you can silence a thread (ie the group message won't notify you with sound/vibration to a new message). Short of blocking every number, this is the easiest solution.
I'm sure other 3rd party apps offer this ability as well, but I'd dig around in the stock app to see if it can do this.
