Hello, fellow owners of the Motorola XPRT!
Some of us over at the XDA forums have successfully ported Cyanogenmod7 from the Motorola Defy, to the XPRT, and we need testers and help!
Current Bugs:
Camera force closes immediately
no data/service (wifi works)
dialer force closes when (trying) to connect to gsm.
Screen tearing (you can fix this by downloading any mdpi theme and applying it)
Gingerbread root: http://vulnfactory.org/public/xprt_root_windows.zip (credit goes to Djrbliss on the XDA forums)
(Just connect your phone via usb, make sure usb debugging and install from unknown sources are both checked)
Most of the credit goes to Rongsang on the XDA forums.
XDA thread :Planning to port CyanogenMod 9 to the XPRT - xda-developers
Download Link:cm-7.2-kronos.zip
(don't forget to download and install gapps)
How to install:
Download the droid 2 bootstrap and rom manager
Flash the droid 2 recovery on rom manager
perform a backup of your current rom (VERY IMPORTANT)
After backup is complete, boot phone into clockwork recovery (hold the R and M keys when booting the phone)
Perform a factory reset and clear the dalvik cache
Go to install zip from sd card and find the zip file
Click yes
Installing gapps:
Boot into clockwork recovery
Install zip from sd card
Find gapps and install it (no need to do a factory reset for this)
ATTENTION: When you need to boot into Clockwork recovery again after installing CM7, just boot up the phone, and when the led light flashes blue, press both volume buttons to open the 2nd-init boot menu, and then navigate to recovery, and click "custom recovery"
After it installs, reboot the phone and it you will eventually boot into cm7.
You will notice the screen tearing, but just find any mdpi theme from the net, or rom toolbox, and install and apply it from theme chooser.
We have been trying to get the data working for a while now, but we have NO idea how to do it. If ANY of you know how to fix this problem, PLEASE contact me. This is what we mainly need help with. If you know anyone who may be able to fix this problem, tell them about this thread.
