Where's Android 2.3?

I thought the XPRT would be getting android 2.3 before launch?, and now a month after launch there's still no mention of it..

One of the reasons I jumped to the XPRT so quickly was all the gingerbread hype it got pre-release. Those rumors turned out to be false obviously.

Here is the reply from Support forums at Motorola:

"Thanks for your interest of Gingerbread for Motorola XPRT on the Sprint Network. We know you've seen some unconfirmed reports that Gingerbread will be ready at launch however this information isn't valid. We can confirm that the Motorola XPRT will see a Gingerbread, however upgrade details of that launch are not yet available. Please look to the Motorola Android Upgrade News site for more details as they become available.


There was an update available at launch. We recommend you update your phone if you have not done so already by going to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Update > Motorola Firmware Update to check for updates. The current version at the time of this post is System version 4.1.15.
