Default 4G - Holy Fast Batman.

I'm no techie, and this is my first smart phone so I might not be the best person to day this, but....I just tried out the 4G for the first time on my Evo and WOW was it fast.

I was having AppBrain download 3 apps, and by the time I said yes to install it and then clicked on the top bar to see the progress, all 3 were done.
I then synced my yahoo mail and it downloaded about 10 e-mails in about a second.

Finally I went to a web page (cnn.com which I was once told is pretty data intense), and bam, the page was there. Not a partial page that slowly appeared, but the whole thing. I swear, this thing in 4G is just as fast as my laptop at home, if not faster!

It's nice to read something from someone so enthusiastic and happy! Just remember to shut off the 4G radio when you're not using it or your battery will die sooner rather than later.

I'm impressed with the phone, in fact extremely pleased! Even when using 3G I find it extremely fast.

Yes, I am very enthusiastic. I love the phone. My battery life is fine, usually lasts me at least a day, sometimes 2. The call quality is better than other phones I have had. The 3G is speed is good, the wifi speed is great and I honestly think that the 4G was incredible.

Thanks for the tip on turning the 4G off, but don't worry, I got that covered. I have read every blog, article and forum about battery life, task killers etc. I'm tweaking things a little each day to see what works for me. I think some people that are complaining about the battery need to cool down a bit. You got a Mazerati and complaining that you aren't getting the gas mileage of a Prius. You want better gas mileage, then get a Prius. Sorry, but I'll take my Mazerati any day!

This is the best quote regarding battery life I've seen. Period.

Only if your home internet is slow. Wi-fi is pretty much only limited by how fast your home internet is.
