Will I regret this????
Long story short, wife hates sprint. Too many dropped calls and slooow data speeds on her ip4s for her to deal with. I have no issues but slow speeds on my GS3 but I know they are improving. She wants vzw yesterday but now wants ME to join her on a "shared data plan". Unlimited mins/txts with 8 gigs of shared data to split. Between the both of us we average about 5-6 gigs of data per month.
If we switch to vzw it WILL be cheaper than if we did a family sprint plan but with network vision in full swing, improving 3g speeds and LTE (For the DC metro) supposedly by mid fall and unlimited data whether we use a lot or not it is hard for me to justify this move.
Will I regret this decision if I say bye to sprint??

You say it's going to be cheaper on VZW with a family plan, but that does not make much sense if your using 3GB each of month. I thought VZW's plan starts with 2GB ...I know AT&T has 2GB and if you want more it's $10.00 additionally for every added 1GB . Their plan is $89.00 for 2GB . Please give more details on the 6GB family plan you are referring to.Correction, the above plan for AT&T is actually 3 GB per one month for $89.99,I miss quoted my partner..

Re: Will I regret this????
Because my wife talks a lot and needs unlimited minutes with sprint she is paying 125 per month on sprint with the unlimited everything plan and I pay around 70 on my plan. we would save about 25 bucks a month if we switched but I just don't want to give up unlimited data. In my opinion it is just one of those thing you wish you had when you don't have it anymore, and with LTE on the way, I think I am going to stick it out with sprint. My wife might not be too happy but hey she can get her own plan on verizon. Guess I will be n the couch for a day or two

Why don't you have a shared plan on Sprint? You would probably save more money. You have to take in account, once you have faster data, you will probably use more.
I toyed around with switching for a long time, but overall Sprint has been pretty good and I think once we get through this bump in the road with their network we will all be happy.

I am in the same boat. I was so close to switching to Verizon, but I can't give up my unlimited data.
You could argue that Sprint's unlimited data is worthless if unusable because of the slow speeds, but I'm holding out hoping Network Vision and LTE especially the conversion of the Nextel towers will help; if it doesn't help then I will probably look elsewhere. I'm really putting a lot of hope into the Nextel conversion. 800 MHz should help us get wider range and more building penetration. LTE would be the opposite of that but would be used for higher speeds. Hopefully the radios will be able to switch based off which band will work best.
I would kick myself giving up unlimited data if all of these network changes worked out for Sprint.
My advice would be to stick it out another year or two. If Sprint keeps handing us empty promises then switch.
As we start using faster speeds, our data consumption will go up. Verizon knows this, and that's why they're trying to push people off unlimited data so they can make more money.
Remember when we used to worry about going over our monthly minutes or texts? That's how data will be for new Verizon and AT&T customers. I just don't want to have to worry about my data usage.
It helps now that my NS4G is back to being an official AOSP device
Good luck, and whatever decision you make just enjoy what you get rather than what you don't have.
