4G Slower than 3G

Why is my 4G WiMax speeds slower than my 3G Airave?

Because the airrave uses your home internet connection while 4g wimax uses the outside towers.

My Airave runs off a 4G WiMax router (Clear), so it should be the same. Also, I live right by a tower. Only reason I have the Airave is that in my previous home, I only had roaming coverage, and Sprint charges you if the Airave is plugged in and/or functioning.

So you're saying is:

Phone --> 4G WiMax tower (slower)
Phone --> Airwave --> router --> 4G WiMax tower (faster)

Is this correct?

How much faster? What are the speed for each setup? While it's an interesting question, it doesn't sound like you're actually having a "problem". Is that true?

Phone ----> 4G Tower = 0.32 Mb/s (D/L)
Phone ----> 3G Airvana ----> 4G Router ----> 4G WiMax Tower = 13.51 Mb/s (D/L)
