Default So how do I handle this situation??

So I'm on Ex contact with her parents and I was living with them and I had a job when I was with them and stuff got bad between me and her so her dad tells me he wants the phone back plus $250 cancellation fee money but I told him I'm not giving the phone back. So he said he's going to call the cops and in 24hrs and tell my phone is stolen & I told him I still have the receipt and everything so it's obvious it's not stolen. So when the cops come y'all tink will happen? Because I told him I'm going to cancel the fee when I get another job because I'm not working anymore because I'm not living with them and they was my way to work it was s far warehouse job. So what y'all think going to happen?

And also I paid for the phone and they had a $100 off for transferring my number over so I only paid $200 that day and I've been paying $60 a month on my part of the line when I was working and living with them.

Just get your own account and transfer the phone /number over... You would need the current account holder the allow this. Technical, it is their phone. Worst case scenario, give them the phone back. If they choose to cancel the line, that's on them.

So if I have end up giving them the phone back I won't have to pay the Fee because he wants the phone back right?

He can still demand the fee if they're going to cancel that line. They could sell the phone maybe if you give it back but it might not cover the etf.

You have the receipt, it's yours. You should pay the etf though

Call sprint. I bet they can split that line off into a new account. That way, you have the phone, a new account and your ex's dad has no etf, no nothing.

Yea I do plan on paying the ETF but not giving him the phone.. And so if I call sprint and explain to them what's going on they should be able to let me switch it over a new account without the etf?

I had a account with sprint before but it got put on standby because my phone got stolen. So do you think they could switch it over to that ?

If you are paying the EFT. You are basically paying off the rest of the phone, so the phone is yours.

If he wants the phone back then he needs to pay the EFT.

Exactly I'm not paying the ETF and giving him the phone. But hopefully Sprint can just switch the line over to my old account that's on standby. Do you think they can do that?

So I found out they can do a Sprint.com/changeofornership and then I'll be off their contact so they didn't wanna do it and they shut off my phone on there contact so I'm not paying anything since they didn't wanna do the simple transfer

This is why you don't get on someone else's plan.

A couple people suggested you call Sprint and ask. Sprint would know even if we don't.
