Nexus 6P Voicemail Notification

I just got my Nexus 6P and after using it for a day I have a stuck new voicemail notification even though I have no new voicemail at all. I can temporarily clear it by force stopping the phone app but it always seems to come back. I also signed up for Google voice Lite hoping that would help but now the voicemail notification just gives the Google voice number to call for voicemail instead of my Sprint phone number.

This is really annoying and I'm pretty sure its a sprint problem. Any suggestions?

Have someone leave you a voicemail. Delete it and it should go away...

Tried that last night. But I'll try again. I might just factory reset the phone too and see if that does the trick.

When you are listening to your voice mail, try hitting * at the end and see if it removes it before you hang up. I usually have to do that on my nexus 6.

I JUST got off the phone with sprint for this same exact problem, they had to delete my voicemail box and re-instate it. Had to send me to tier 2 support.
