So what speeds are you guys seeing regularly on Sprint's 4G network? I've tried Verizon's network, but its currently unloaded so its not a good judge. I'm on T-mobile right now, and on their 3.5G network I can regularly get 9-12 down.

So, what speeds do you see?

3-5 down and never more then 1 up (I think it's capped).

I thought I read that they were going to increase the speeds of the network this summer, but maybe not..

Depends on where in town I am. In my house, I am around 3-5 down just like sixtyin3. When I am downtown, I get around 8 - 9 down. Home and downtown is around 1 up.

If I can even get a 4G signal locked on..then usually 4-6 down in the Houston, TX area. Really spotty and forget any signals in a building unless you are right next to a window. I don't bother turning on WiMax anymore.

4-6mbs is still enough speed to do everything you want to do on your phone. I watch netflix, hbo go. and cartoon network with no problems and i usually get 1bar of 4g inside my house.

In my corner of New Mexico...

I work for state government and travel all over. So I use a lot of my 4G service when I can. We have very spotty service here in New Mexico to date. However, here are my results...

Santa Fe
BEST TEST: 9mb down/2 mb up
AVERAGE TEST: 6.5mb down/1.25mb up

Albuquerque
BEST TEST: 7.5mb down/1.5mb up
AVERAGE TEST: 4.5mb down/1mb up

Las Vegas (NM)
BEST TEST: 1.5mb down/1.5mb up
AVERAGE TEST: 1mb down/900k up

These were taken using the Speed Test Labs app on my HTC EVO. Latency has been in the 150ms to 500ms range. Quite a big spread.

Sprint/Clear 4G is very new in our area. I believe that usage is still quite low and may account for our higher than average speeds. I have yet to test speeds in Farmington, Carlsbad, Alamogordo or Las Cruces.

I think the reason why it was slow in Las Vegas, New Mexico was the speed of the backhaul service was limited. I don't think it was because they had a lot of users burdening the system. The town only has 10,000 people.

I dont live in Sprint 4G but I am near Boise, ID. I usually get around 7-8 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up in the area when I had my Evo 4G, but haven't had a chance to test my Nexus S 4G

Ran a speedtest with a NS4G at my local Best Buy (in a loaded 4G area), and it managed to pull 8 down and 3 up. Not bad, especially considering that the last time I ran one in the same store it couldn't get more than 4.
