Dropped in water, Now no display

Firstly, Hi everyone, new to Forum, (and to Android). Came across forum more by neccesity, whilst looking for guidance.
My wife dropped her Atrix, briefly, into bucket of water, it was rescued quickly, and the phone itself seems to be working fine, except for the display, she still has touchscreen, and if we place the phone and twist it around a bit under a spotlight, it's just possible to make out the display. Sooooo, does anyone think that a new screen would provide answer?

I have heard a few tricks like soaking it in alchohol over night,
or putting in a container full of dry rice for 24 hours.
I dont know how well either on works.

The rice idea would probably be the safest.

As for alcohol - the only thing I would even consider was 100% isopropyl alcohol. And I wouldn't soak it.
