Will GB update lock an unlocked phone?

Hi!
I have an ATT Atrix, that has been code unlocked. Its on TMobile for the time being.
The GB update message showed up, and as excited as I was, I`m hesitant it might affect the carrier unlock. Does anyone know anything about it? Will the update lock the phone again? If so, will the same code work to unlock it?

Some updates have been known to re-lock devices by other manufacturers but I don't believe Motorola is among them, my Atrix is at&t unlocked for use on Rogers and all went fine, no relocking.

kinda irrelative , but I gotta ask :

Rogers ... as in the Canadian communication company ?
You received the GingerBread update via an OTA ? or used the MSU (Motorola Software Updater) ?
Did you get it in the same time as the American Atrix 4G ?

The Reason im asking because Im very interested in the Atrix 4G (the AT&T version) & i'll get one soon
currently I have a British Unbranded (I think they call it SIM-Free) Motorola MileStone 1 here in Saudi Arabia & when the FroYo update came out (about 4 months ago) , I couldn't update it via an OTA & I had to wait an extra month so I can update my MileStone with a Middle East version of FroYo via MSU

If you do the OTA with an unlocked bootloader, you /might/ kiss the BL unlock goodbye. I just flashed the SBF from 1.8.3 with pudding and it works like a charm.
As for cell phone unlocks, I don't think it would. Unlocking is done hardware level if I recall correctly. (That's why you have to punch in that strange code - its based on your IMEI)
If you want to unlock your bootloader do it now before you upgrade to Gingerbread because they complicated things. I'm a flashing noob (totally new) and I found a guide on XDA that walks you right through it. Though I'm not sure you use AT&T... sorry really tired!

After your positive feedback I went ahead and updated the phone, and everything went perfect (besides the fact that Motorola really made an effort to make the UI even uglier) and phone is still unlocked! So thank you very much!

@IceDree FYI, I got the ATT Atrix, unlocked it, and got the update when it already was on another carrier, although I was still in the USA (it might have geographical restrictions, I don't know..), and I think I got it right around the same time everyone did. It must have gotten the update notification via WiFi, because I did not have data activated on the carrier it was on. Hope I helped! Feel free to ask me any more questions... ;D

Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately I already did the update...so I guess when I decide to star messing around with other builds etc, I'll have to unlock the bl the 'complicated' way. lol But would you mind sharing the thread you mentioned ? Thanks
