I did not do anything. Just rebooted my phone & suddenly saw this msg: Modem did not turn up starting rsd protocol.

Then the mobile doesn't turn on.

Then I Googled a bit. Found that flashing pudding may solve it. Started flashing pudding but did not pass. It said failed but I did unlock my bootloader. (it was saying oem unlock isn't implemented before)

So I erase system, cache, preinstall, via fastboot & then flashed CM7. It was reporting the same thing..

Modem did not turn up starting rsd protocol.

Then tried to flash the ATT .91 radio..
it was saying something like this:

Updating BP
Error 0
abort

But I could boot to Android via HW Android some thing which says cold booting linux & I could boot to cyanogenmod.

The baseband says unknown.

Please help!

Completely ridiculous and frustrating, isn't it? Same **** happened to me awhile back. Except it was one of those moments where the phone rebooted itself, not me rebooting it, making me feel even less in control of my own device. I've had a thousand other issues with my Atrix (which I'm still using) as well. This is my third Atrix overall. This was my first and last time buying a phone from Motorola. I came in here for help and one forum member was even bold enough to start crying about how I had probably rooted it and messed it up that way, etc - I hadn't even touched that stuff simply because I knew I wasn't ready to fix it if it were to mess up - that's why when this happened I was so upset. Anyway, regardless...

A very kind forum member here named Nick helped me bring mine back to life. However, you already seem to know a lot more about Android and flashing than I do...so I don't think I can tell you anything you haven't already done or thought about doing. Not only that, but my issue happened before Gingerbread was even released, and I know there is some very confusing info out there about how "you have to do THIS to fix it but you can't flash THIS if you did THIS OTA, you have to do THIS and THIS" -type stuff. Maybe you'll find and understand all of that info much better than I can.

Here's what Nick linked me to back then which ended up bringing my phone back to life again.

Follow these instructions to a tee. I have done this and it works perfect. Easy but patience is needed. Let me know how you do."

So, that's what I used and through the RSDLite program on the PC, my Atrix was back to normal.
Hopefully you can still use that thread even with all the new OTA's out and all. Good luck!

Thanks for your kind reply. I've flashed a small 1mb sbf to get my bootloader unlocked. So I think I'll be able to flash this 1.5gb thing too! Thanks man! You'll owe me if this works! :) BTW I've already CM7 running will there be any problem flashing that sbf? Hope not!

I'm honestly not too sure about that...like I said, I've not gotten into flashing anything yet, except for this time when I was forced to to bring my phone back to normal working order again. Hopefully someone else will come by and answer this for you. :( Sorry!

Re: Downloading update 4.9.51. NOT beta!

Well, after unrooting (was a waste of time to root it for the 1 day it was rooted after all, lol), the Moto software DID find "an update" for me, it said, contrary to what my phone has told me...

Never rooted huh?

Still in denial. I wish I had gotten to the poor slob who hard bricked his phone before you did.
