How to set volume buttons to turn on screen?

By default, when screen is blank, "finger print" button is used to turn it on. But I'd like to set volume button to do so instead.

I am not sure you can set this with Moto's stock ROM. I use RedPill in which it can be done.

What do you mean when you say it didn't work for you? Did you try the app? If so, what was your issue with it?
