I'm pretty sure it does. Most dual core phones will have it.

No Mirroring on the EVO, although I believe Cyanogen is working on it for their rom.

After playing with the Atrix at CES last weekend. I can confirm that it does have mirroring, but through the webtop interface. The interface basically runs an emulation of the phones screen. Although I'm a VZW guy. I'm honestly really jealous of this device and can't wait to see some of the features, Laptop dock specifically, for some of the future VZW droids. I've got photo's and video's of the device if anyone is interested.

There IS hdmi Mirroring........when you connect it to a TV, it will give you the option for entertainment center mode or "do nothing" mode. "Do nothing" mode will simply mirror your screen on the TV instead of launching into Moto's entertainment center styled UI with your phone's screen turning into the remote.

It doesn't mirror, what it does is display certain videos, ad pictures on a tv or music through the tv speakers. You cant generally see a copy of whats on your phone's screen, play games, watch protected media, or look at your browser, on the TV, among other things. That feature on the EVO only works for a small subset of what you probably would want to use it for. It was the best available at the time as most of last years processors couldn't handle true screen cloning.

1080p is coming? Where'd you see this? The 2X has it, but I would think that if the Atrix had it, moto would have made sure you knew, even if it was a "coming soon" feature. Edit: Nevermind, I saw it in your link. Sweet.
Thanks.
I don't think it was the processors fault, there were apps that allowed you to do it iirc. My Galaxy S did as well, but it was through the 3.5mm port with crap quality. - 01-14-2011, 10:38 PM #19
No, it's definitely the processor. You could probably do some fake mirroring in software but the performance would be bad.
First off you are comparing a hummingbird based SoC from Samsung to the first gen Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor (SGX540 >> Adreno200). Secondly there is a huge difference from mirroring 1080p through HDMI vs "crap quality" through the 3.5mm headset jack (I am very interested to see how you output video over that jack btw.) - 01-14-2011, 11:00 PM #20

Even without the HD quality, the 3.5 to composite is at least reliable. My experience with using the HDMI out on the Evo is rather grim, phone reboots, florce closes, and overall instability galore with three differant Evos, (no, they were not mine) and two different cables. I'm not sure if Motorola's implementation on the DX has been better, but for the sake of the Atrix, I hope so... because I plan on having one.

Even so, there is nothing stopping the phone from rendering the screen and displaying multiple outputs if the GPU can send output to multiple screens. Not talking from a phone standpoint, but from that of a PC, rendering an image takes the processing power. Displaying the same image on more than one screen does not. If the GPU on the HTC's had enough clock gens to support two screens, HDMI mirroring would be possible on a hardware level.

That's a good news. I have a doubt: if I want connect the atrix to a TV, could I buy just a simple HDMI cable (mini hdmi) or I will be forced to buy the multimedia dock to connect the atrix to TV? The real mirroring is the first option, like you can do with lg optimus 2x.
