Headphone remote control

I'm attempting to fast forward MP3s in the music player via double clicking the button on my Skullcandy headphones. This action brings up a different menu to access another program or attempts to make a phone call. Is this type of control possible in any third party music players? I tried Droid Shuffle app, but it doesn't work. Thanks.

I just got the same thing with my Dre Beats...the only downfall I've found on the phone for me thus far. It didn't work for real player either. All the controls work just fine with my bluetooth stereo headset.
