Notification tone gone

I was using a Zedge ringtone and I couldn't change to another, so I deleted the file for the tone, and the results were that now I have no tone for notifications for my incoming gmail. I even deleted the Zedge app, but I'm in never never land regarding the notifications tone. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Go into the gmail app, hit the menu button, hit "More", hit "Settings", scroll down to "Notifications" and look for "Select Ringtone".

When you deleted the ringtone you were using, it didn't automatically select a random tone for you to use. You have to select a new tone now since you deleted what you were using. At least, that's my guess.

Good guess. Worked. Now I can reload Zedge since I know how to change the settings in Gmail and other notifications. I assumed that by changing tones in General Settings that it would change them for my Gmail notification.
