Unsure if this problem is common, but have not found any information on it. No changes on atrix recently it is rooted but for the last 3 weeks no changes (only rooted for side loading) but today the phone is acting up specifically the screen doesn't respond to touch and also the fingerprint scanner is burning up. Should I just return it (out of my 30 day window, but this seems like a hardware issue)

Yeah, this is your best bet, if you can. But, over on the Motorola Atrix corporate forum, there have been posts by Atrix owners who got into hardware trouble, while rooted/modded, and they couldn't restore their device to stock. They returned their Atrixes for repair, just the same, and got proper service, no hassles.

So, try to restore to stock, but if not, send it back, anyhow, and hope for the best!
