I am using a samsung captivate i987, modded recovery with no check for signatures on zips, on froyo. I am new to flashing custom roms, and I'm trying to flash dark knight. I used ROM Manager to get clockwork recovery, now it says it is installing the rom, but it is in a loop. it:
brings up the att screen
goes black
brings up att screen
brings up, what looks like i guess the terminal where it installs, in a matter of half a second in runs through bout ten lines then goes blank, and back to the top.

Is this bad, correct? It will stop doing it after about ten times, then I press and hold the power button to turn it on and it cycles through again. Wjat the Heck!?!?!?!?

You need to try and get it into download mode. I take my battery out and hold the volume button down, put the battery back in and plug in the data cable and that works sometimes
