Looks very interesting. Though I am rooted, I have never flashed a rom and wouldn't know how to begin once I have the rom I create on ROMKitchen.

I'd need some easy, idiot-proof way/guide to install.

there should be install instructions on the XDA post, it's not hard once you get the hang of it.

Check out the CapFAQ for pointers on most things Captivate.


I suggest reading this along with watching some of the "how-to" videos to get you started. Even though it isn't a walk through for this, it'll help you along the way. Keep in mind that XDA is very techie oriented, but there are things to learn there before you get started.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the links, konazxiii. I am somewhat "techie" when it comes to computers. I test all kinds of Linux distros. Hopefully that experience will translate fairly well to this.

You'll do fine then. I've done all of my ROMs and mods without ever opening a command prompt/adb/sdk/whatever.

Yeah, good luck with that. I am telling myself much the same thing, and have managed to not flash anything in a couple weeks now. I know already though, that once 2.3 ROMs start dropping, I will gladly indulge in my sickness again.

[kernel][froyo] I9000 reoriented v2.3.2 01.31.2011 - xda-developers

Try this one. I think he is the original source for that fix, as well as most of the others (could be wrong on that). The feature list specifically notes the headphone jack fixes.
