Getting kinda annoyed now.
This is the 2nd time I've tried to root my Captivate. First time I used the Odin 1 click. Followed the instructions, and it just sat there for hours with the black and yellow screen going "downloading" but with no progress bar of any way shape or form. After like 2 or 3 hours I just popped the battery and the phone is still working just fine but there's no way it should take that long.
Second time I did the 1 click root from the XDA developers, and I followed all the instructions 2 times. It rebooted, did the whole reinstall packages, had the "Debug mode" up. Waited for the phone to reboot itself after reinstalling packages, opened up Connectbot, tried typing
su
access still denied. I've followed all the guides, downloaded the Samsung Captivate 64 bit drivers, I can't figure out why this dang thing isn't rooted at this point. I'm freaking sick and tired of not having at least Froyo and no information of when froyo is even coming. I'm coming across too many apps I want to use that require froyo, there's some features in froyo I want access to, I'm curious about if it'll improve the performance of my Captivate... Dang it. What do I do?
Oh and FYI I've got a custom firmware PSP that I used the Lumines update hack. So I've done this sort of stuff before.
Oh and I also can't get Side Load Wonder Machine working either. Here is the error message

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
