Does anyone know what AT&T will be charging for this device off contract? The rumors of $350 are very unlikely as T-Mobile is charging $500. I'm assuming it will be the same on AT&T but you never know.

I called a few stores and shocking or not shockingly, they were clueless.

Some people have already bought it for $299 and $349, depending on the seller.

Off contract? That seems super low... I'll but it if it is that cheap but I highly doubt it. Just don't see T-Mobile selling it for $500 and AT&T selling it for $299 when the 2 year contract price is $199.

I can't believe AT&T stores are clueless 2 days before release. Pretty sad. Until then I have my Droid X being delivered today.

I'd love to know where to get it for $299, heck even for $349. I'm not due for an upgrade yet, and ATT wants $380 for an ARIA. Captivate has to cost at least $499, same as iphone 4.

Yeah... spoke with a national sales rep... stated that he thought the captivate off contract price was $450 or $500, but he was not 100% on that

Don't you have an iPhone to play with instead?

It was $350 for people who found it in stores pre-release, but now I think AT&T reps have started saying $500 :( I guess they noticed that people actually liked the non-iPhone...

I called two AT&T retailers in my area a few minutes ago. They both quoted me 349.99 off contract and 199.99 on contract.
But neither carry it, I'll have to order...

Only the official AT&T stores got them shipped in.

I'll have to call my local store tomorrow morning and see what they tell me now. Interesting.

I called 5 local stores just now. Some corporate and some not - every single one of them quoted me $500 off contract.

I'd drop $350 for this phone on Monday if my local AT&T can get it for me. At $500 I still don't want to wait for my next upgrade offer, but might think it over for a few more weeks...

A post in the "are you getting it" thread says $399 off-contract. That's right in line with a 16gig iphone 4.
