Isnt there a way to get a larger clock display (a la HTC clock) that I can add to the main screen?

Widgets... you will have to jump through hoops to get the HTC-looking clock, because HTC is particular about who uses that design.

I like to keep my home screen pretty clean... I've got the Google bar, Smooth Calander below that, Weather Channel widget, then my Contacts, Email, Camera, and a generic "Apps" folder I toss my more frequently used apps in. Phone, Messaging, and Browser sit down in the tray.

If you want a nice looking big clock widget, get Beautiful Widgets. I really like it, but don't need the big clock display.

There is one clock on there similar to the HTC clock... Sense Analog Clock...
not the best but better than nothing
