Side Loading

I'm trying to side load some apps. But the wonder machine says my phone is offline. I already enabled side loading and rooted the phone. And have drivers for phone.

Is your USB debugging on? Go to settings--applications--development and make sure its checked.

Also, if your phone is mounted, unmount it, or vice versa, I forget which it had to be.

I can't remember how do you do that ? The computer is find it and loading drivers. Its just that side loader is saying its offline.

Once your phone is connected in USB debug, bring down the notification bar and unmount it. If Windows is not seeing it as a removable drive, I think you're good to go.

I have the same issue with my captivate...Debugging is on and it isnt mounted..no root...using AC SWM and shows device offline

For me, the sideloading was working when I had my Vista working.
After my pc was busted by virus, I switch the OS to Windows 7.
Since then, the sideloader wont regonize my device anymore.

is there anything do with the windows 7?

I have win7 also and it says my device is offline when trying to install

I have Win7 and after I rooted I had to uninstall and resinstall the Side Loading wonder Machine to get to work.

Maybe this deserves it's own thread, but....

Assuming we already got all this sideloading working, what app's are worth sideloading?

Only one I came up with some far is SiriusXM...

Suggestions?

I have several - most of them require root such as wireless tethering. The latest one that I loaded was the Yahoo! Messenger app with video chat pulled from the MyTough 4G. I use it to video chat with my wife's iPhone 4.
